PBGH currently has a great opportunity for Social Compliance & Sustainability Specialist . The Social Compliance & Sustainability Specialist will monitor, initiate, and collaborate to ensure the compliance of One Jeanswear Group’s Standards for Contractors and Suppliers. The ideal candidate should have previous experience in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) including knowledge of international labor laws, an understanding of social compliance auditing, work place health and safety, chemical and environmental safety, and sustainability. The desired individual should have strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills and also be able to strongly demonstrate the ability to individually develop and manage projects in the field. This position is well suited for an individual who is self-motivated, hardworking, a team player and looking to learn current requirements in Compliance & Sustainability in the textile industry.

Requirements

  • Able to travel domestically and internationally 5-10% annually
  • Ability to understand, communicate and operate effectively in a multinational and multi-cultural environment with all levels of management
  • Detail oriented and can research and analyze material effectively with minimal supervision at times
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in analytical, technical, or international business or 1+ years’ experience in the area of Social Compliance is advantageous but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Support Compliance for both OJG and customer requirements, including our suppliers
  • Assist in managing independent 3rd party audits at 150+ factories and/or mills
  • Primary contact for GRS transactions and certificates from Tier 1 and tier 2 facilities and from OJG to the customer we sell to
  • Ability to research and evaluate the impact of pending legislation on OJG and work on a plan to ensure we are adhering to requirements
  • Represent the OJG Compliance Department as a key liaison with vendors/suppliers. This includes conflict resolution, clarity, and partnering to ensure violations have been fixed
  • Validate completion of the HIGG Index self-assessments annually and verification audits (every 24 months) and other eco-friendly initiatives at factories and mills
  • Assist with organizing efforts/projects designed to reduce OJG’s carbon footprint
  • Contribute to various annual filings: CDP, Supply Shift THESIS, UN Global Compact, Conflict Minerals, etc.
  • Generate the quarterly “Health of the Factory” and “Health of the Mill” reports and work with Production to identify any adjustments to the schedules
  • Facilitate registration of tier 2 facilities with BHive and monitor the platform for current wastewater reports, Higg info and perpetual chemical inventory
  • Assist in charity and volunteer efforts for OJG Impact Days
