About The Position

BECOME A US FOODS® BACKHAUL DRIVER! LOCATED IN LEXINGTON, SC Ready to build a career with a company that’s leading the foodservice industry? The expected base pay for this role is component pay (based on miles, pick-up rate, and waiting time) with a minimum pay of $275.00 per day. Benefits medical, dental, vision, 401K, life insurance, strong safety culture, and much more! Excellent local leadership. Schedule is Monday - Friday, some Saturdays. Dispatching between 1:00 am - 6:00 am (sometimes as late as 11:00am depending on when pick-ups are scheduled, 12-14 hours per day). There might be some overnight pickups. Flexibility with schedule is required. Registering to the FMCSA Clearinghouse is a requirement by the Department of Transportation. All Drivers are required to the Clearinghouse website and register to the new database. The Clearinghouse is a secure online database that provides real-time information about commercial driver’s license (CDL) and commercial learner’s permit (CLP) holders’ drug and alcohol program violations. If you have not registered to the FMCSA database, please note registration is required.

Requirements

  • Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
  • Minimum of six months commercial driving experience or three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry required
  • Must be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to enter information on reports and records.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations
  • Willingness to travel 2-3 times per week required

Responsibilities

  • Safely drive truck to vendors and company drop-off sites
  • Verify freight on truck, required trailer temperatures and accuracy of freight with vendors
  • Return tractor and trailer to division when route is completed
  • Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection
