About The Position

Chetola Resort is seeking a skilled and motivated Banquet Line Cook to join our newly reimagined culinary team supporting Timberlake’s Restaurant and the resort’s banquet and event operations. This role is responsible for preparing and executing high-quality dishes for weddings, corporate events, and special functions, ensuring each event reflects Chetola’s elevated culinary standards. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in consistent execution, and brings a collaborative spirit to a team that values craftsmanship, precision, and hospitality.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a professional kitchen; banquet or high-volume experience preferred.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience a plus, but not required.
  • Current ServSafe Certification or ability to obtain within 60 days.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.

  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook banquet menu items according to standardized recipes and event requirements
  • Execute dishes consistently and efficiently during high-volume banquet service
  • Ensure proper seasoning, portioning, and presentation of all dishes leaving the kitchen
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of banquet prep and service stations
  • Properly store, label, and rotate ingredients following food safety and sanitation standards
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef, Banquet Sous Chef, and culinary team to support smooth event execution
  • Communicate clearly with kitchen and service teams to coordinate timing and service flow
  • Maintain a positive, professional attitude during fast-paced banquet service
  • Support teammates to ensure the overall success of each event
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly including grills, fryers, ovens, and steamers
  • Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked workstations
  • Follow all health department, sanitation, and food safety requirements
