About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Behavior Assistant to support students with behavioral, emotional, and developmental challenges in a special education setting. This role involves working closely with teachers and specialists to implement behavior intervention strategies and foster a safe, structured learning environment.

Requirements

• Experience working with children, preferably in a special education setting
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques (ABA preferred)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, empathy, and ability to manage challenging behaviors
• Ability to follow structured plans and maintain consistency
• Basic documentation and reporting skills

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, or related field
• Experience with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training
• Prior school or classroom support experience

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
• Support students with emotional, behavioral, and learning disabilities
• Monitor, track, and document student behavior and progress
• Provide one-on-one or small group behavioral support
• Help manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement techniques
• Assist teachers in maintaining a structured and supportive classroom environment
• Support students during daily routines and transitions
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and parents as needed
• Ensure student safety and follow crisis intervention protocols
