About The Position

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavior Assistant (Special Education) to support students with behavioral and learning needs in a structured school environment. This role involves working closely with educators and staff to promote positive behavior, enhance student engagement, and maintain a safe and supportive learning setting.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior experience working with children or individuals with special needs is highly desirable

Nice To Haves

  • RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with special education and behavioral needs
  • Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) under supervision
  • Utilize positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques to manage student behavior
  • Assist with classroom activities to improve focus, participation, and academic progress
  • Monitor, document, and report student behavior and progress accurately
  • Support students with daily routines, transitions, and classroom mobility
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and staff to support student success
  • Assist during crisis situations using appropriate intervention strategies
  • Promote development of social, emotional, and communication skills
  • Adhere to all school policies, procedures, and confidentiality standards
