Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in higher education or 3+ years in business analysis, reporting, or analytics
  • Experience documenting requirements, user stories, or functional specifications
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand, map, and evaluate business processes
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement abilities

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) and relational databases
  • Experience in higher education, finance, healthcare, or other data-rich environments
  • Exposure to data governance, data quality, or metadata management frameworks
  • Experience with enterprise systems (ERPs, CRMs, Student Information Systems)
  • Background working within Agile, Scrum, or SDLC environments

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate discussions with stakeholders to understand reporting needs, pain points, and key performance metrics
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications for BI developers and data engineers
  • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and risks in data requirements and recommend solutions
  • Communicate requirements, findings, and project updates clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences
  • Partner with BI Analysts to design and enhance dashboards, reports, and self‑service analytics
  • Validate data accuracy and report functionality; support user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Educate stakeholders on interpreting dashboards, improving data literacy, and ensuring metrics are consistently understood and applied
  • Work with Data Governance teams to ensure reporting aligns with institutional standards and supports data quality initiatives
  • Analyze current-state reporting workflows to identify automation and optimization opportunities
  • Recommend process improvements for reporting, data pipelines, and analytic workflows
  • Support cross‑functional teams through projects, governance committees, and collaborative initiatives
