About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

In-Person Tutoring in Moreno Valley, CA
Schedule: 35 hours per month, 5 sessions a week
Pay range is between $25 and $35

Requirements

• Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
• Experience working with high school students in Special Education settings
• Familiarity with IEP-based instruction and supporting students receiving speech services
• Strong background in reading comprehension strategies (main idea, inference, text analysis)
• Experience supporting writing development, including sentence structure, paragraph organization, grammar, and clarity
• Solid understanding of math concepts, including fractions, decimals, percentages, exponents, and introductory algebra concepts
• Ability to support higher-level math topics such as graphing relations, identifying functions, and determining domain and range
• Skilled in breaking down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps
• Patient, supportive, and able to build confidence in students working below grade level
• Creative in incorporating student interests into lessons to increase engagement

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized instruction in reading comprehension, including identifying main ideas, making inferences, and answering text-based questions
• Support writing development through structured guidance in sentence formation, paragraph organization, grammar, and editing
• Deliver math instruction covering fractions, decimals, percentages, exponents, and foundational algebra concepts
• Assist with understanding relations, graphing, functions, and domain/range concepts
• Break down assignments and concepts into step-by-step instruction to improve understanding and retention
• Reinforce learning through guided practice, repetition, and real-world applications
• Support completion of school assignments and improve overall academic performance
• Maintain structured sessions with clear expectations and consistent routines
• Incorporate student interests (e.g., fitness activities) into lessons to increase motivation and engagement
• Provide a supportive and encouraging learning environment to build confidence and independence
• Communicate progress with caregivers and adjust instruction as needed
