Billing Operations Manager

Conduit HealthNew York, NY

About The Position

Conduit Health is transforming one of the most outdated corners of post-acute care—getting essential medical equipment and supplies into patients’ homes. We’re the first vertically integrated, AI-powered platform to unite ordering, telehealth, prescriptions, insurance, and fulfillment into one seamless experience. In seconds, case managers and providers can say “yes” to patients who would otherwise wait weeks—while we handle every step behind the scenes. The Role We’re looking for a Revenue Engine Driver to own the end-to-end billing lifecycle across our DME, Telehealth, and Data verticals. This is not a back-office role - you are embedded in our cash-flow engine daily. You will manage vendor relationships, hunt down denials, and build the systems that make billing bulletproof at scale. You have high autonomy in order to build protocols from scratch based on proactive research. You thrive at the intersection of healthcare operations, claim strategy, and high velocity health tech M&A integration, this role is for you.

Requirements

  • “In the Trenches” Experience: You have been in the Medical Billing trenches for the past few years and are interested in stepping into a management role. You’re ready to own the high-growth HealthTech DME environment, and you understand the intricacies of Medical Billing enough to help steer outsourced billers.
  • Denial & A/R Ownership: You have a track record of measurably reducing A/R aging and denial rates, not just reporting on them. You’re a veteran of fixing the root cause of denials, and you’re ready to lead a team.
  • Systems-First Mindset: You don’t just jump in when the team needs help, to work claims directly, you build workflows that prevent the same problem from surfacing twice. Automation and SOP’s are your default.
  • Billing Fluency: You bring experience related to Durable Medical Equipment (DME) billing, and you have a solid understanding of how Telehealth fits into the DME picture. You know when a CMS submission requires deep refinement.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Full Billing Lifecycle: Manage every stage from EDI payor enrollment and claim submission through remittance posting and patient collections. You are the last line of defense against billing blackouts.
  • Drive Daily Cash Flow: Monitor A/R Aging, identify stalled claims, and proactively resolve payor edits, rejections, and denials before they age. Cash flow is your scoreboard.
  • Manage EDI Infrastructure: Ensure EDI trading partner agreements are executed and tested before go-live dates
  • Lead the Denial Management Program: Build and run a structured denial and appeals workflow with the help of RCM leadership. Track root-cause trends and implement upstream fixes, working in lockstep with outside vendors. Identify upstream issues related to auth, intake, or documentation to reduce denial rates month-over-month.
  • Serve as a Vendor Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for outsourced billing vendors and billing software partners, holding them accountable for SLA’s, submission quotas or timelines, and KPI’s assigned by Leadership.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary with meaningful equity options
  • Flexible working environment (3 in-office days per week in New York).
  • Unlimited PTO + 9 company holidays.
  • Direct mentorship and growth opportunities with senior leadership.
