About The Position

Support the Philips Multi-Vendor Services (MVS) business as a Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) for customers in the Valhalla, NY area. You will be responsible for customer relationship management through the effective use of technical knowledge to install, troubleshoot, service, and maintain equipment at customer sites. Your role: Perform and complete preventative maintenance (PM), Field Change Orders (FCOs), installations, and all related tasks independently, diagnosing and resolving electronic, network, and mechanical issues. Utilize service manuals, tools, training (on-the-job, manufacturer, 3rd party), support, resources, and escalation processes within required timeframes to resolve customer and system problems timely and effectively. Provide exceptional customer service by adhering to customer entitlements, setting clear expectations, and meeting commitments to address and resolve customer needs. Understand the customer's business and assess priorities communicated by site leadership. Actively participate as a member of the onsite work team; work to improve team processes and identify training gaps. Seek out opportunities to increase capability and capacity (i.e. may be required to become trained on a diverse range of equipment, learn new tools). Perform all administrative duties within established Philips, State, and Federal regulatory requirements and timeframes including timesheets, service work orders, expense reports, FCOs, PM, installation documents, site and service documentation, and other related paperwork. Adhere to established training, quality, and safety requirements. Shift time: Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM.

Requirements

  • You’ve acquired 1+ years of experience in a medical service environment or 3+ years of experience in other electromechanical industries.
  • Your skills include the ability to understand and apply electronic, mechanical, and networking theory to install, diagnose, and repair equipment, including knowledge and use of all necessary tools and test equipment.
  • You have an associate degree in electronics or related field, or equivalent combination of education and above listed experience.
  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
  • You must be able to: Work in a hospital/healthcare environment; adhere to requirements.
  • Work flexible hours as needed based on business needs (i.e., 2nd or 3rd shifts; weekends, on-call; mandatory extra hours dependent on workload).
  • Safely work with radiation sources and/or radioactive materials; wear all required personal protective equipment.
  • US work authorization is a precondition of employment.
  • For this position, you must reside in or within commuting distance to Valhalla, NY.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with general biomedical equipment, patient monitoring, ventilators, defibrillators, and/or infusion pumps highly preferred.
