About The Position

The Courtyard by Marriott, situated on CMU’s campus, is looking for skilled cooks to assist with breakfast service at their onsite F&B outlet - The Bistro. If you have kitchen expertise and are committed to providing exceptional food and hospitality, we look forward to reviewing your application! JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the daily production of high-quality food and maintaining sanitation standards at all times.

Requirements

  • Communication both verbal and written
  • Must be able to multi-task
  • Time management and problem solving skills
  • Satisfactory criminal background screening required
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record may be required
  • Ability to walk, kneel, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Food preparation experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Set-up kitchen properly and on time daily
  • Ensure all food is prepared by recipes designated by brand
  • Ensure food quality and quantity are correct
  • Must follow all QA and Health Department standards
  • Notify supervisor of any problems or complaints when they arise
  • Follow “clean as you go” policy and keep work area clean at all times
  • Rotation of goods – FIFO (First In First Out)
  • After service, turn off and clean oven tops, work areas, and reach-in boxes. Empty and clean dishwasher
  • Make sure production charts are closely followed and adhered to
  • Fill out appropriate cleaning charts
  • Be aware of accident prevention and help enforce safe work conditions
  • Follow all kitchen regulations as outlined and directed
  • Complete administrative duties as required
