About The Position

We are a growing precision manufacturing team producing high‑quality round cutting tools for customers across various industries. We’re committed to quality, innovation, and providing a clean, well‑organized workplace where skilled machinists can thrive. We are currently seeking an experienced Blank Prep/HSS Operator to join our team. The Blank Prep/HHS Operator is responsible for setting up, adjusting, and maintaining Blank Prep machinery to produce high‑quality tool blanks. This role requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to perform inspections and follow manufacturing specifications.

Requirements

  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to read and interpret basic technical documents
  • Ability to stand/sit for long periods
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. without assistance
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures

  • Previous manufacturing experience
  • Career & Technology education
  • Experience using inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators)
  • Understanding of basic math including decimals and fractions

Responsibilities

  • Set up and adjust all Blank Prep/HSS machinery to meet required specifications.
  • Follow production schedules, work orders, and routing sequences.
  • Monitor machine operations, including movement of parts, gauges, dials, and sounds, to identify potential equipment failures.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and make necessary adjustments.
  • Interpret drawings, attributes, and routings.
  • Perform in‑process inspections according to established inspection protocols.
  • Maintain product quality using proper inspection tools.
  • Perform routine operator maintenance on equipment.
  • Utilize proper tooling required for each job.
  • Complete production paperwork and shop‑floor data collection accurately.
  • Follow all aspects of the company Quality Management System.
  • Maintain ability to work in physically demanding positions and lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Assist in training additional employees as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Management.
