About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Blaster/Painter to join our team. The Blaster/Painter is responsible for preparing surfaces and applying protective coatings to structures, equipment, and components. This role requires experience with abrasive blasting, industrial painting, and proper surface preparation to ensure high-quality finishes and long-lasting corrosion protection.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Blaster/Painter in industrial, marine, or construction environments.
  • Knowledge of surface preparation standards (SSPC/NACE standards preferred).
  • Experience with airless spray equipment and blasting systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, specifications, and safety guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments including heat, humidity, heights, and confined spaces.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening (drug test/background check if required).
  • TWIC card or other site-specific credentials may be required depending on job location.

Responsibilities

  • Perform abrasive blasting using sand, grit, or other blasting media to clean and prepare surfaces.
  • Apply industrial coatings, primers, and paints using spray equipment, rollers, or brushes.
  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, degreasing, masking, and sanding as required.
  • Mix coatings and paints according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Inspect surfaces before and after blasting/painting to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Operate and maintain blasting and painting equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and wear required PPE.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Work in confined spaces, heights, or outdoor environments as required by the project.
