As a member of the Health Plan Operations team, our Broker Reporting Analyst serves as a data and analytic consultant for functional business areas by collecting and analyzing operation and financial data. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of related professional experience
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of the above requirements
  • Keen analytical and problem-solving skills with proven capability to perform difficult analytical tasks with minimal supervision and document business requirements
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex information across all organizational levels
  • Advanced knowledge of health plan operations, data sources, and data structures within the business area, combined with expertise in data mining tools and methods (SAS, OLAP, SPSS, Minitab, Tableau)
  • Knowledge of analytic programming tools and methods (SAS, SQL, OLAP, Business Objects, Crystal) with proven ability to design and develop reporting tools and dashboards, including server reporting services
  • Strong business sense in areas such as finance, accounting, economics, risk management, public health economics, social service research, or epidemiology
  • Demonstrated success with project management, including the ability to organize, plan, and prioritize assignments within multiple projects while working with minimal direction and maintaining flexibility to coordinate complex activities subject to rapid or extensive changes

Responsibilities

  • Provides analytical support to any or all divisions of the organization by mining data, conducting analysis, and interpreting results related to business needs, while developing methodologies and approaches to new tasks and projects through design and development of analytical models and reports
  • Develop knowledge of health plan operations, health plan data sources and structures, and cost containment strategies, and reviews data as it relates to health plan operations to assist with the development of cost containment strategies
  • Proactively identifies issues, concerns, problems, or needed changes to management, recommends resolutions, and participates in quality improvement efforts while actively identifying and eliminating inefficient or ineffective use of resources and providing recommendations on process improvements
  • Identifies needed reporting, assembles or directs the assembly of reports, distributes such information, and performs acceptance testing of new reports, programs, and models
  • Documents business requirements and methods used to generate work output, and serves as a resource on analytic programming tools and methods
  • Drives analytic innovation and best practices within Cambia and may supervise the gathering and analysis of information
  • May assist in training of other team members
