About The Position

The Security Officer is responsible for covering the routine security shift as assigned. During those shifts, they will conduct security rounds of the facility checking the physical security of the facility, checking fire extinguishers and other safety equipment, and reporting any safety or security related defects or anomalies. Security Officers will have access to CCTV monitors and will either in person or via CCTV monitor staff in the parking areas during shift changes during their watch. Security Officers are also on call to any emergency at the facility as necessary.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and write.
  • Six months of experience in building security work.
  • Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Master-At-Arms classifications or law enforcement specialty codes in the site security field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
  • Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of an automobile. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
  • Employees in this classification are subject to call 24 hours a day and, therefore, will be required to provide the employer with a telephone number where they can be reached.
  • Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 06.01.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.
