About The Position

WHY PATIENTS NEED YOU External innovation opportunities will play a significant role to enable Oncology to achieve our aspirational 2026 goals. This will require thoughtful project management and process innovation to ensure opportunities are appropriately triaged and appropriate inputs from relevant functional subject matter efforts are provided to enable streamlined go/no-go decision making. To this end, we are excited to launch a 6 ‑ month secondment for a Business Development Program Manager to help orchestrate and drive our external innovation efforts in partnership with ORD stakeholders and Oncology Business Development (inclusive of search and evaluation & transactions), among others. WHAT YOU WILL ACHIEVE The Business Development Project Manager will coordinate oncology business development assessments , ensuring robust clinical development planning, aligned resourcing, and streamlined collaboration across Oncology Portfolio Strategy & Pipeline Operations (PS&PO), Oncology R&D functions, and Worldwide Business Development (WWBD). This role serves as a critical operational bridge between Business Development and R&D, ensuring high‑quality, decision‑ready outputs for senior leadership and governance forums. HOW YOU WILL ACHIEVE IT Scope of Responsibilities Provide project management leadership to support the evaluation of Oncology business development opportunities in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders Coordinate scoping, pricing, timelines, and execution of R&D assessments for potential assets Drive consistency and continuous improvement in business development assessment processes across oncology. Serve as a key point of contact between PS&PO and Business Development stakeholders , ensuring priorities are clearly communicated and appropriately resourced. Partner closely with PS&PO LT, Project Management Group Leads, Portfolio Directors, and functional representatives to ensure effective execution. Identify resourcing risks early and work proactively with PS&PO leadership to address capacity and capability needs. Collaborate with Pfizer Worldwide Business Development (WWBD) to support prioritization of oncology opportunities and maintain streamlined, efficient ways of working. Ensure oncology teams are positioned to deliver high‑quality, aligned inputs within tight business development timelines. Success Criteria By the end of the secondment, the Business Development Project Manager will have: Enabled on ‑ time, high ‑ quality delivery of multiple oncology business development evaluations. Improved efficiency and clarity of oncology business development assessment workflows. Strengthened alignment between Business Development, PS&PO, and R&D stakeholders. Reduced escalation burden on senior leadership through proactive issue identification and resolution. Create management reporting for business development. Developmental Opportunity This secondment provides the incumbent with: Direct exposure to Oncology Business Development strategy and deal execution . Increased visibility with senior oncology and WWBD leadership. Accelerated development in enterprise‑level portfolio decision‑making and external opportunity assessment

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree with at least 8 years of experience, or an MBA/MS degree with at least 7 years of experience, or a PhD/JD degree with at least 5 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with business development assessments and due diligence activities.
  • Strong understanding of clinical development planning, oncology strategy, and portfolio decision‑making.
  • Proven ability to operate as a trusted cross‑functional integrator.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, prioritization, and communication skills in fast‑paced, high‑visibility environments.

Nice To Haves

  • MD/DVM degree with at least 4 years of experience is preferred.
