Position Overview The Business Support Specialist will act as the first point of contact for people leaders who need assistance navigating J&J’s self-service processes and systems to manage their teams. In addition, this role provides general administrative support to the business.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree preferred or equivalent, relevant work experience
  • Proven ability to manage concurrent responsibilities, prioritize and manage projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Great relationship management and communication skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization in a professional manner
  • High attention to detail
  • Great ethics, especially when accessing or handling confidential information
  • Ability to stay organized, prioritize and achieve deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong problem solving, data analysis and analytical skills
  • Operate as a team and/or independently while demonstrating flexibility to changing requirements

Responsibilities

  • Partner with managers to open new requisitions and schedule interviews
  • Partner with the Recruiting & Onboarding (R&O) and Talent Acquisition (TA) Teams to support onboarding
  • Deliver new hire orientation and be a subject matter expert for new hires
  • Walk managers through processing promotions, salary changes, reporting changes, terminations or other employee changes
  • Act as the key point of contact for time and attendance-related topics for hourly employees (if applicable)
  • Collaborate with TA, BUHR, and Managers, to provide an excellent employee experience and encourage positive company morale
  • Escalate issues with manager tasks to the appropriate internal resource and ensure resolution
  • Proactively identify gaps in existing processes and take the initiative to implement agreed changes
  • Enable compliance and participate with audits
  • Assist with planning and executing team and company events, including catering coordination
  • Work on projects where independent action and initiative are required in resolving problems and developing recommendations
  • Other duties as assigned
