About The Position

Position Overview: The Camp CBG Instructor instruct half- or full-day camp programs for children ages 2 to 12 on a part-time basis. Programs are hands-on, inquiry-based, outdoor science experiences. Camp CBG is a specialized program of the Education Department that focuses on the development, delivery, and evaluation of outdoor science, nature, art, and food-based educational programs for children.

Requirements

  • Must be available for at least two weeks between June 8 and August 7, as well as necessary pre-camp meeting dates.
  • Three years of teaching experience required.
  • Bachelor of arts or bachelor of science degree in education or related field required.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference is given to those with experience and/or interest in teaching science, environmental/outdoor education, and art, with early childhood or middle school experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare syllabi and lesson plans in cooperation with the manager of Camp Programs.
  • Instruct groups of 12 to 20 children.  Supervise campers at pick-up and drop-off site.
  • Attend pre-camp trainings.
  • Request or purchase supplies in accordance with established procedures.
