Camp Dodge Facility Coordinator
About The Position
Camp Dodge is the heart of AMC’s trails operations in Northern New Hampshire. “Dodge” is home for up to 75 AMC trails seasonal staff from May to October each year, including Trail Crew, Campsite Caretakers, Research staff, and Dodge staff. Additionally, Dodge hosts trainings and events for the northeastern trail community. The facility is outfitted with an industrial kitchen, and meal service is provided for residents and guests. Over the years, Camp Dodge has developed a reputation for delicious food that nourishes and sustains our community, and the Facility Supervisor makes this possible through their staff and kitchen management. Further, the Facility Supervisor ensures with their team that Camp Dodge’s beautiful property and grounds is well-kept and fully functional. Dodge enjoys a spectacular view of the northern presidentials, access to trails in the heart of the White Mountains, blueberry bushes, apple trees, a small garden, and many nearby swimming holes! AMC has operated Camp Dodge under a special use permit with the US Forest Service since 1983. Camp Dodge is located four miles north of Pinkham Notch Visitor Center within the White Mountain National Forest. Housing is available on-site at Camp Dodge if desired.
Requirements
- Facility coordination/Camp management experience, particularly in a setting similar to Camp Dodge.
- Professional kitchen and food service experience.
- Exceptional customer service, organization, attention to detail, and the ability to lead a diverse team while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Understanding of health codes and standards
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, stand and walk, bend, twist, and reach. Utilize step ladders and cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities
- Ensure that all Camp Dodge operations are safe, efficient, and welcoming to all guests and residents.
- Recruit, hire, train and supervise seasonal staff including two head cooks and six crew members.
- Create weekly schedule ensuring proper shift coverage.
- Plan, order food for, and supervise preparation of meals, accounting for resident/guest counts which fluctuate from 20 to 150 depending on season, when crews are in the field, and special events. Most meals are between 30 and 60 count.
- Operate within constraints of program budget, tracking expenditures and coding purchases.
- Manage housing assignments and facility usage for up to 75 staff, coordinating and communicating among program managers and staff.
- Supervising opening of the facility in May and closing in October.
- Coordinate with contractors, service providers, and AMC Construction Crew as needed to ensure the safe functioning of all Camp Dodge utilities, buildings, and grounds. This includes regular monitoring of the drinking water system and periodic testing.
- Delegate and manage responsibilities for staff to maintain high levels of cleanliness including kitchen, restrooms, showers, laundry rooms, dining and common areas.
- Delegate and manage responsibilities for upkeep of grounds including mowing, composting, a small garden, and other upkeep.
- Promote and provide up to date information on the mission, services and programs of the AMC.
