About The Position

Serves as the Campus Personnel Officer (CPO) for DBSICS, reporting to the Assistant Dean and participating as a member of the school’s senior leadership team. Oversees all academic personnel and payroll functions, acting as principal consultant on academic and staff personnel matters. Manages a team of HR professionals and maintains communication with faculty, staff, and student employees, representing the school in all academic personnel and payroll issues. Ensures compliance with UC and UCI policies, procedures, and union contracts, and is accountable for all associated HR laws, policy, and regulatory compliance within the scope of the position. Hybrid position required 3-4 days in office per week. Expected salary range: $108,100.00 - $156,500.00/year

Requirements

  • Broad knowledge of organizational and systemwide personnel policies and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Direct knowledge of specific functions in a university's HR management information systems.
  • Strong communication skills for diverse audiences; able to make oral and written presentations.
  • Advanced management skills: collaboration, coaching, developing subordinates, and relationship-building.
  • Strong management skills that include collaboration, coaching and developing subordinates; ability to build relationships.
  • Thorough understanding of the unit goals and ability to determine the best way of achieving unit goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle difficult individuals effectively.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • Must be able to provide proof of work authorization
