About The Position

Joffe Emergency Services is an all-in-one provider of expert emergency response training, event safety, and security for individuals, schools, non-profits, small businesses, and corporations throughout the country. Our goal is to save lives and prevent emergencies through highly skilled response training that builds trust, demonstrates respect, and empowers learners to apply life-saving techniques to any individual in need, under any circumstances. We are looking for a PART TIME Lead Campus Security Officer (Lead CSO) to serve at a school in the DC area. The Lead CSO will assist the school with its mission to ensure the highest quality of education by providing for the safety and security of all students, staff, and property.. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership, professionalism, and excellent customer service skills while ensuring consistent application of safety and security policies. The Lead CSO will assist in mentoring and guiding CSOs and maintaining strong communication with school administration as part of a larger security team.

Requirements

Must have a valid DC SPO license that can be transferred over to Joffe
Ability to be away/ off personal phone for duration of shift; with the exception of scheduled breaks or emergencies
Able to provide at least 2 professional references
At least 3 years of consistent security experience
Comfortable working independently
Customer Service experience required
Must be able to read and write English fluently
Be comfortable working in fluctuating work settings. (Sitting, standing, outdoors and/or be exposed to inclement weather conditions)

Nice To Haves

Experience working with children (preferred but not required)

Responsibilities

Serve as a secondary point of contact, following the Director of Safety and Security, for the school administration regarding campus safety and security operations.
Provide leadership, guidance, and support to other Campus Security Officers (CSOs) assigned to the school.
Mentor new and existing CSOs, providing coaching, feedback, and on-the-job training as needed.
In coordination with the onsite Director of Safety and Security, monitor and coordinate daily security operations to ensure full coverage and effective response.
Act as first responder to all campus emergencies, medical and criminal, that could potentially be hazardous and/or life threatening.
Conduct regular inspection tours of campus facilities and grounds to identify potential risks and ensure compliance with safety standards. Will require walking and standing for extended periods.
Oversee enforcement of campus policies and procedures relating to safety and security concerns.
Assist in and oversee investigations of incidents on school campus, including reviewing camera footage, interviewing witnesses, and preparing accurate reports.
Coordinate and communicate effectively with local law enforcement agencies to ensure alignment with best practices.
Support school administrators in addressing safety concerns, providing input, and recommending improvements to security protocols.
Oversee traffic flow and parking control on campus grounds as needed.
Manage campus access, ensuring only authorized persons are admitted while maintaining a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Assist with scheduling and ensure that all campus security responsibilities are covered.
Provide informal awareness education and safety information to students and employees.
Other duties as assigned.
