About The Position

A Car Wash Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a single car wash location, ensuring efficient performance, excellent customer service, and adherence to company standards. In this role, you’ll lead a team of attendants and technicians, manage site maintenance and inventory, and ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for both customers and employees. You’ll also play a key role in meeting sales goals, maintaining equipment, and supporting employee development.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a supervisory or management role, preferably in retail, automotive, service, or car wash operations.
  • Proven ability to lead a team, manage scheduling, and delegate tasks effectively.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Basic understanding of inventory control and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn company-specific software.
  • I must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operational procedures, and company policies.
  • Ability to write routine reports and communicate effectively in English with employees, customers, and management.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • I must be able to deal with routine problems, customer concerns, and equipment issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity to perform basic repairs and operate car wash equipment.
  • Ability to bend, sto o p , and reach frequently throughout the shift.
  • Occasional work at heights or in confined spaces during maintenance tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Mechanical aptitude or experience with car wash systems and equipment is preferred.
  • OSHA or safety certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manages daily operations of the car wash, ensuring all systems are functioning correctly and safely.
  • Supervises and schedules staff to ensure adequate coverage during peak and non-peak hours.
  • Ensures a consistently high level of customer service by coaching staff and handling escalated service issues.
  • Performs regular inspections and basic maintenance of wash equipment and systems.
  • Oversees cleanliness, organization, and visual appearance of the car wash facility.
  • Trains new team members on safety procedures, operational protocols, and customer service expectations.
  • Monitors and manages labor, chemical usage, and supply inventory to meet budgetary goals.
  • Works to achieve sales and membership targets through upselling and customer engagement strategies.
  • Reports maintenance issues, safety concerns, and operational needs to the District Manager or maintenance team.
  • Ensures compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Conducts daily and weekly reporting of performance metrics, inventory usage, and employee timesheets.
  • Performs various other duties as assigned.
  • Recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training new employees.
  • Monitoring performance and providing coaching, recognition, or disciplinary action as necessary.
  • Creating and managing employee work schedules to ensure operational coverage.
  • Promoting a safe, team-oriented, and customer-focused work environment.
  • Leading by example and acting as the main point of contact for all site-level employee concerns.
