About The Position

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is seeking an outstanding noninvasive ABIM-Board eligible/certified cardiologist . Candidate will be superior in all aspects of noninvasive Cardiology and Echocardiology, and capable of teaching Cardiology fellows, Internal Medicine residents, and medical students through didactic lectures and participation in various multidisciplinary conferences. Cardiology Division, Facilities & Equipment: Nationally recognized Cardiology Division with more than 100 faculty members that fosters a collegial and collaborative environment with a focus on faculty career development. Sites of practice include: Redbird or Park Cities regional clinic for ambulatory practice. William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital, a state-of-the-art facility designed for patient comfort and well-being where complex tertiary and quaternary care is provided which incorporates advanced technology to enhance multidisciplinary collaboration Parkland Memorial Hospital, Dallas County’s exemplary urban public hospital which provides outstanding diagnosis and treatment for virtually every type of condition or disease A diverse array of specialized services in cardiovascular disease are available to support a general cardiologist’s practice including an interventional program that does complex PCI and structural heart interventions; electrophysiology program (ablations, devices); advanced heart failure/MCS/cardiac transplantation; and programs in preventive cardiology, ACHD, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, cardio-oncology, hypertension, pulmonary hypertension, sports medicine, cardiac sarcoid, and women’s heart health, amongst others. Research Environment: Research interests are supported by a culture of collaboration with our strong basic science and clinical teams within the department and across the campus Interdisciplinary care conferences that serve as springboards for clinically relevant research Robust research coaching and mentorship Advanced clinical and pre-clinical instruments and resources Administrative, biostatistical, and logistical support

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) or foreign equivalent
  • Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited cardiology fellowship program
  • Board Certified in Internal Medicine with an unrestricted license to practice medicine in Texas
  • Board certified/eligible in Cardiovascular Disease
