About The Position

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, the No. 1 hospital in the Dallas-Fort Worth area by U.S. News and World Report, is seeking an outstanding full-time Interventional Cardiologist. The candidate will carry out regular attending duties within the Division of Cardiology, as well as participate in teaching and training of fellows, house staff, and medical students. The candidate will be superior in all aspects of Cardiology. Cardiology Division, Facilities & Equipment: Nationally recognized Cardiology Division with more than 100 faculty members that fosters a collegial and collaborative environment with a focus on faculty career development. Clements Jr. University Hospital is a state-of-the art facility that is visually appealing, incorporates advanced technology, and was designed for patient comfort and well-being and to enhance multidisciplinary collaboration, Clements University Hospital is a centerpiece for carrying out UT Southwestern’s three-part mission – to heal, innovate, and education § Parkland Memorial Hospital, Dallas County’s exemplary urban public hospital which provides outstanding diagnosis and treatment for virtually every type of condition or disease § Clinical Heart and Vascular Center, where ambulatory care at UT Southwestern is delivered in a collaborative manner with our allied health care team ACGME-accredited Cardiology fellowship programs including Cardiovascular Disease, Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology, Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant, Adult Congenital Heart Disease, Interventional Cardiology, as well as Texas Medical Board-accredited fellowship programs in Structural Interventional Cardiology, Advanced Echocardiography, Cardio-Oncology, and Cardiology Advanced Research and Clinical Training, Hypertension. A close collaboration exists with the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery comprised of skilled cardiac surgeons who serve as a regional referral source for complex, quaternary care. Research Environment: Research interests are supported by a culture of collaboration with our strong basic science and clinical teams within the department and across the campus Interdisciplinary care conferences that serve as springboards for clinically relevant research Robust research coaching and mentorship Advanced clinical and pre-clinical instruments and resources Administrative, biostatistical and logistical support resources within the department

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) or foreign equivalent
  • Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited cardiology and Interventional Cardiology fellowship programs
  • Board Certified in Cardiology, and subspecialty board in Interventional Cardiology
  • An unrestricted license to practice medicine in Texas

Responsibilities

  • Carry out regular attending duties within the Division of Cardiology
  • Participate in teaching and training of fellows, house staff, and medical students
