About The Position

Performs cardiovascular procedures in the Invasive Cardiology Department under the supervision of the Cardiologist and/or the Electrophysiologist at a level not requiring constant supervision of the technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment. Assumes responsibility for designated Lab and any procedures performed in that Lab as required. Responsible for basic patient care and quality customer service. Is cross-trained and multi-skilled in two or more cardiovascular modalities: Electrophysiology (EP), Cardiac Catheterization, and/or Structural Heart.

Requirements

  • CVTs working in the Cardiac Cath Lab must take call and be available to be contacted and report to work within thirty (30) minutes.
  • Graduation from an accredited Health Science program (Associate of Science degree or higher) or relevant experience on a year-for-year basis can be considered in lieu of the degree.
  • Graduate of an approved/accredited school or cardiovascular program, and eligible to sit for the exam to obtain one of the following within one (1) year of hire date: - Registered Cardiovascular Technologist (RCIS and/or RCES), - Radiological Tech (Registered), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RCIS), or - RN (RCIS)
  • Current licensure or registration in the state of Florida (excluding CVT) (through C.C.I.).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications within ninety (90) days of date of hire.
  • Two (2) years of experience in an Interventional Cardiac Cath and/or Electrophysiology Lab.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of hospital computer applications.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab in which two (2) years must have been in an interventional Cath Lab.
  • The ability to float to EP Lab or Peripheral Lab.
