Job Purpose Works with guests and residents on reducing barriers and achieving goals towards stability. Shares the responsibility of maintaining a safe, clean, hospitable, and dignifying environment for all guests and residents; assisting in the provision of trauma-informed, person-first, and grace-based program services to meet the need of all who seek TRM’s care.

Requirements

Associate degree in Social Services or related field or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Experience working with low-income, diverse populations preferred.
Experience offering case management services.
Skilled in clear and effective written, verbal, and electronic communication.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and foster teamwork in a diverse environment using effective and thoughtful interactions and communication.
Able to respond calmly and effectively when under stress interacting with people who have high barriers, including but not limited to people with mental illness, who may be under the influences of various substances, may have weapons, and/or may be prone to violence.
Bilingual Spanish/English a plus.
Basic operating knowledge of office equipment, computers, and Microsoft Office Suites.
Ability to operate TRM vehicles for the purposes of fulfilling the responsibilities of this position.
Valid Driver’s License & Evidence of Insurability.
Acceptable driving record.
Successful completion of TRM driving test.

Responsibilities

Assesses guests’ strengths, goals, and barriers regarding housing and stability.
Documents information in databases, keeping data current and accurate.
Creates a written tailored plan based on goals and identifies specific action steps the guest needs to take.
Meets with guests on caseload each week to monitor progress in achieving goals and revising action plans when necessary.
Establishes proper files to include necessary documentation, ensuring confidentiality.
Connects clients with the Coordinated Entry system and/or other community resources that can help them reach their goals.
Keeps informed of current community resources that can support the goals of guests.
Administer urinalysis and breathalyzer tests for shelter guests as needed.
Operates TRM 12-passenger van in order to fulfill the responsibilities of this position (e.g., transport clients to appointments, run errands to support program needs).

Performs other duties as assigned to support others and ensure an efficient and effective work environment.
