About The Position

We’re excited to host an Onsite Interview Day on February 11 for the role of  Resident Service Coordinator! Candidates whose applications are selected will have the opportunity to interview directly with the hiring manager. If selected, you will be contacted to confirm your scheduled  Are you passionate about supporting our seniors? As a Protective Services Caseworker, you are the front-line advocate for older adults facing crisis, neglect, or abuse. You will provide essential crisis intervention, protective services, and social casework to ensure the safety and dignity of seniors in our community.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.S.W., Psychology, or Gerontology preferred).
  • Skills: Excellent writing and record-keeping skills with a high level of computer literacy.
  • Mobility: Ability to travel to clients’ homes using mass transit and navigate various residential settings.
  • Values: A deep appreciation for cultural diversity and the unique needs of the populations we serve.

Nice To Haves

  • Language: Bi-lingual skills in Yiddish, Russian, Spanish, or Patois are a major plus!

Responsibilities

  • Crisis Intervention: Conduct intake, triage, and emergency screenings for older adults in immediate need of support.
  • Empower & Protect: Perform in-home assessments and develop case plans that resolve social, emotional, and safety issues.
  • Be an Advocate: Arrange for direct services including home health care, legal aid, mental health therapy, and emergency cash relief.
  • Prevent Exploitation: Evaluate client capacity for self-care and assist in securing financial management or guardianship to prevent exploitation.
  • Lead & Represent: Supervise interns and volunteers while representing JASA at community conferences and meetings.
