About The Position

The Consultant will partner with our Kroger sales teams and Kroger by delivering actionable category and shopper insights to elevate partnership and increase sales. The Manager will support the Hershey Salty Snack business, inclusive of SkinnyPop, Pirate’s Booty, Paqui, and Dots Pretzels. Key to role is synthesizing insights from multiple sources to identify opportunities, develop executable assortment and merchandising tactics and create concise selling stories to drive growth for category, retailer, and Hershey Salty Snacks.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of syndicated data, customer data and Category Management processes.
  • Robust experience with data mining and exposure to third party data including IRI or Nielsen, 84.51, Numerator, etc.; Exceptional Excel skill set
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Solid PowerPoint skills to build high impact visual stories
  • Exceptional planning, time/project management, communication and organizational skills
  • Passion to develop innovative processes and consistently deliver results with high accountability
  • Highly motivated, intellectually curious, and ability to adapt to fast paced and changing environments
  • Four-year undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Management, Finance or related field required

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred candidate will have 3-5 years CPG Category Management or Sales experience.
  • Knowledge of Alteryx, PowerBI and/or Tableau
  • Exposure to JDA space planning software

Responsibilities

  • Leverage syndicated, customer, and consumer data in Microsoft Excel, PowerBI, etc. to mine and aggregate large amounts of data to assimilate national and retailer trends
  • Develop, analyze, and proactively communicate category and competitive performance to Kroger sales and commercial teams; Be the internal Salty Snack category expert for Kroger
  • Identify Best-In-Class distribution and shelving strategies for Salty Snacks to drive overall category growth and capture fair share for Hershey Salty brands
  • Develop independent relationships with customer and key decision makers to position Hershey as a category insights expert and validator for Salty Snacks category
  • Work collaboratively with Category Insights and Category Management teams to push strategic thinking and organizational shopper/category acumen
  • Partner with Salty Sales Analyst and Hershey CMG Category Management to share business insights and best demonstrated practices
  • Liaise with Marketing & Sales Planning teams to determine competitive pricing and promotional activities for product categories
