About The Position
A leading building materials distributor in Lafayette, IN is hiring a CDL Class B Driver to deliver drywall and steel studs to construction sites. Drivers operate boom trucks and Moffett (truck-mounted forklift) equipment to unload materials directly inside job sites. This is an active role that combines driving with hands-on material delivery, ideal for drivers who enjoy staying physically active on the job. Drivers are responsible for safe transportation, DOT compliance, pre-trip/post-trip inspections, and job site deliveries, including unloading materials using boom cranes or Moffett forklifts. Most deliveries require physically handling drywall and steel studs into the job site, so candidates must be comfortable with physical work. The company operates a fleet including boom trucks, a Moffett truck, and flatbeds, and will provide certification training for boom crane operation for qualified drivers.
Requirements
- CDL Class B license
- Strong physical ability for material delivery
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, hours of service, and safety procedures
Nice To Haves
- Experience with boom trucks or Moffett forklifts (preferred but not required)
