About The Position
R.J. Corman Switching Company is seeking a CDL-A Operator in Ste. Genevieve, MO . This position operates specialized equipment in support of inspection, installation, and maintenance of railroad track. Responsibilities: Operate Specialized equipment. (i.e. Backhoe, Crew Truck, Prentice Truck etc.) Performs preventative maintenance on heavy or specialized equipment. Maintains proper equipment appearance and cleanliness. May perform labor duties as needed. Communicates with supervisor throughout the job process. Ensures working conditions are safe, and proper PPE is being used as job duties require. Follow DOT regulations; ensure proper permits and driving regulations are followed. Specialized or Technical Knowledge, or Education and Experience:⯠Demonstrated operation experience and equipment knowledge. CDL A License and demonstrated performance operating CDL-A required vehicles Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot simple mechanical failures. Previous experience in railroad construction or maintenance preferred. Physical Requirements: Able to perform physical strenuous work Able to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs Requires occasional use of 30 lb claw bar to remove spikes, requiring application of 50 lbs of force Requires occasional use of 10 lb sledgehammer to drive spikes, requiring application of 75 lbs of force Able to walk, climb, and maintain balance on equipment, stairs, ladders, uneven terrain, rails and ballast in a safe manner Able to navigate into confined spaces if necessary Environmental Conditions: Work is performed outside in varying types of environmental conditions. Major or Unusual Problems: Travel required. Must be able to work away from home, including long hours & weekends as necessary. Benefits: R.J. Requirements
- Demonstrated operation experience and equipment knowledge.
- CDL A License and demonstrated performance operating CDL-A required vehicles
