Registration and Student Records Specialist The Registration and Student Records Specialist reports to, takes instruction from, and is accountable to the BYU Continuing Education (CE) Registrar. The CE Registrar assigns the Specialist to support a multitude of CE programs and offerings. The Specialist is the primary contact for CE programs and offerings for their registration and academic record needs and support. He or she acts as a member of the assigned CE programs’ management team to advise on registration aspects impacting offerings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and office experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain effective relationships and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Professional and clear communicator.
  • Knowledgeable about the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and committed to confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of professional work experience.
  • Familiarity with Continuing Education (CE) programs and offerings.
  • Understanding of Payment Card Industry (PCI) Standards.

Responsibilities

  • Configure Multiple Registration Systems in Support of Myriad CE Programs
  • Consult with CE program teams to determine registration needs and functional specifications; implement solutions, ensure policy compliance, resolve complex registration issues, and distribute registration information to stakeholders.
  • Provide Support for BYU Online High School
  • Register/withdraw students, input transfer, and external credits, and maintain accurate academic records within the Student Information System.
  • Provide Escalated Customer Support
  • Process vouchers and special registration transactions, including withdrawals, refunds, petitions, and specialized program enrollments.
  • Maintain and Correct Student Records
  • Test internal registration system updates, ensure related processes remain functional, and coordinate issue resolution with the Registrar.
  • Investigate disputed payments, submit documentation for reversals, and communicate with participants regarding account balances.
