About The Position

Aspen Group, Inc is an education technology holding company that leverages its infrastructure and expertise to allow its two universities, Aspen University and United States University, to deliver on the vision of making college accessible and affordable. Aspen University has an opening for a Student Records Specialist. Position is a REMOTE position. The Student Records Specialist provides general customer service and information to new, continuing, and prospective students. They assist the Registrar with processing of student information and records. Provide and maintain student records including transcripts and enrollment verifications. May work with Colleges in building course offerings and faculty assignment.

Requirements

  • Associate degree from an accredited college or university or Minimum 2 years of professional academic experience in administration and/or records.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail, accuracy and efficient workflow.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and set priorities.
  • Proficient with computer and word processing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Office of Registrar in daily processing of transcripts, enrollment verifications and student demographic changes
  • Provide information and assist new, continuing and prospective students with general inquiries and academic records by responding via person/telephone/mail/e-mail/fax requests
  • Respond to new, continuing and/or prospective students regarding the full range of academic records, including commencement, transfer credits and/or transcripts
  • Processes registrations and researches/resolves registration concerns
  • Assist in monitoring student attendance and advising in regards to maintaining attendance standards
  • Maintain student files and records ensuring accuracy and integrity
  • May assist in processing graduation applications and commencement ceremony process
  • Adhere to the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and all University policies essential in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of all student data
  • Perform administrative tasks such as filing, copying, and scanning documents
  • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned
