The Cement Finisher will ensure that concrete is poured correctly and meets the required specifications.

Requirements

  • Knowledgeable in OSHA standards
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License with reliable transportation
  • Proven experience as a Cement Finisher or similar role.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and plans.
  • Strong knowledge of concrete mixing, pouring, and finishing techniques.
  • Familiarity with power tools and machinery used in concrete finishing.
  • Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test is required

Responsibilities

  • Set up and align forms for concrete according to blueprints or plans.
  • Mix, pour, and spread concrete in specified proportions.
  • Smooth, level, and finish freshly poured concrete using trowels, floats, and screeds.
  • Monitor the effects of weather conditions on concrete curing and make necessary adjustments.
  • Apply sealing and hardening components to cure surfaces.
  • Create textured or decorative surfaces by imprinting patterns in fresh concrete.
  • Cut expansion joints into concrete using saws and cutting tools.
  • Clean and maintain tools and equipment.
  • Supervise and train junior workers on proper techniques and tool usage.
  • Maintains a clean job site; picks up tools and equipment
  • Other duties as assigned.
