About The Position

This position is responsible for: Provides Child Care services for children in the child watch areas including personal care, hygiene, learning and development activities and specialized programs; prepares and maintains records; maintains cleanliness and orderliness of childcare property. Assists with the set-up, oversight, and cleanup of children’s parties as scheduled.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D., AND TWO (2) years’ experience teaching child development programs in a church or pre-school, OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
• Ability to observe children and ensure their safety.
• Ability to lift, hold, and carry toddlers on a regular basis.
• Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.
• Work is performed in a normal childcare environment where there are little physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, and dirt.

• Provides constant care for the needs of the children in an efficient, clean, loving, safe, secure, and healthy
• Builds and maintains effective and positive relationships with parents in order to ensure an enriching and nurturing experience for their children.
• Develops and implements hands-on activities which are age appropriate.
• Determines appropriate supplies and materials are available at all times; ensures the children’s safety in utilizing the same.
• Provides opportunities for physical and mental stimulation through both inside and outside activities.
• Prepares and serves children snacks; ensures that children receive nutritional and tasteful food.
