Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank delivers meals to thousands of children in Allegheny County through the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). We administer this USDA program making meals available in the summertime to children who receive free and reduced meals at school during the school year. We support our partners serving children by problem solving food access challenges; as well as connecting partners to additional programs where applicable, resources and equipment through Impact Grants, and on-site coaching for site staff as needed. The Child Nutrition Summer Compliance Monitor supports the administrative and programmatic work of the Food Bank as it acts as a Sponsor of the USDA and PA Department of Education (PDE) administered Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). The Monitor is primarily responsible for conducting required in-person monitoring visits, as well as service delivery and support visits to the site. Monitors will maintain all regulatory records associated with visits. Monitors will also be the primary customer service agent for their respective sites. This position is largely based in the field with time spent traveling to multiple program sites each day. The Monitor will also provide day-to-day programmatic support to sites and the Child Nutrition Team as needed. This person works as a member of a team to achieve Child Nutrition goals and to fulfill the mission of Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, to leverage the power of community to achieve lasting solutions to hunger and its root causes.
