About The Position

The position will lead and manage the state-level operations of the Innovative Approaches (IA) initiative and provide on-going technical assistance and training on the system of care approach to improve the community-wide services to meet the needs of families of children and youth with special health care needs. The Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs Initiatives Coordinator will develop and manage Innovative Approaches Initiative budgets, agreement addenda, contracts, and grants and provide leadership and support to the three grantees on project development, implementation, evaluation and replication. This position will be a liaison to the Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs to promote Innovative Approaches through the Innovations Hub. This position will also coordinate initiatives resulting from CYSHCN strategic planning work across the Whole Child Health Section and in collaboration with external partners, utilizing the Blueprint for Change, a national framework for a system of services for CYSHCN where they enjoy a full life and thrive in their community from childhood through adulthood. This will include the development of model CYSHCN policies and procedures, data collection and analysis, and coordination of programs and services with other agencies. This work requires the development of partnerships and coalitions with state, public, private and volunteer organizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three (3) years progressively responsible experience related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

  • Experience in research, data collection and data analysis, including experience in collecting, analyzing, utilizing and presenting data
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member and serve regularly as a lead in coordinating multiple projects
  • Contract development and management are preferred
