About The Position

Osborn Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Design Technology Specialist to support our Infrastructure Division, including our Civil, Transportation, and Water Resources teams. This role is ideal for a candidate with strong technical aptitude in civil design software, interoperability, and digital project delivery workflows. Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in infrastructure design or AE digital workflows.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D and/or MicroStation/Bentley Software.
  • Strong understanding of file interoperability and IFC workflows.
  • Ability to troubleshoot software installations, configurations, and licensing.
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Hilti Profis, Synchro, L-Pile, MDX, AASHTOWare Bridge Rating, MerlinDash, MIDAS, Shoring Suite, TAEG, Open Bridge Designer, HydroCAD, WaterCAD, StormWise, PCSWMM, AutoTURN, AutoTable, OpenBridge Designer, RasterDesign, Autodesk Vehicle Tracking and others preferred.
  • Experience with the Autodesk Construction Cloud ecosystem preferred.
  • Coding or customization experience in LISP, C#, Python, Dynamo, or web development, especially as Autodesk shifts to cloud-based AI-ready platforms preferred.
  • Familiarity with Esri/ArcGIS preferred.
  • Experience managing license managers, license servers, or software administration within an AEC environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day‑to‑day technical support for the infrastructure division design teams.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to CAD, GIS, and modeling platforms.
  • Assist with project setup, standards compliance, and digital delivery workflows.
  • Assist with the administration and customization of AEC software, including maintaining custom configurations, templates, tool palettes, and standards—particularly within AutoCAD/Civil 3D and MicroStation/ORD environments.
  • Maintain and update ODOT workspaces, applications, and plug‑ins required for ODOT project submissions.
  • Support the ongoing development and upkeep of Osborn’s AutoCAD customizations including: Updating and deploying license files. Managing user access across vendor portals. Supporting license servers and license manager configurations.
  • Manage and support specialized AE software platforms used in civil, transportation, and water resources design, including version control, licensing, interoperability, and environment configuration.
  • Configure .cfg/.ini files, point software to appropriate license servers, and coordinate installation media between offices when needed.
  • Provide user support for Bentley ProjectWise, including onboarding new users, permissions, and workspace management.
  • Troubleshoot ProjectWise-related issues and coordinate with IT and technical team members as needed.
