About the role Our Claims Apprentices split their time between developing professionally and assisting clients who have experienced an auto loss. Apprentices develop the necessary skills to provide a consistent, positive, and satisfying claims experience for our clients through the proper investigation, negotiation, and settlement of personal lines auto claims. The work begins with assisting clients with basic claim-related questions and progresses towards investigating and settling single vehicle collision claims and clear liability multi-vehicle claims. Additional Information: • Position starts on July 13, 2026. This position is Monday through Friday and based out of our corporate offices in Bloomington, IL. How does this role make an impact? • Completes Claims training and job shadows through various areas within Claims, including the departments in the Auto Claims, Property Claims, and Casualty Claims divisions. • Completes AIC online coursework and participates in additional assigned education and Claims School discussions. Communicates with clients via phone/email to deliver a best-in-class client experience by resolving matters related to claims. • Enters communication records and other data into various company systems for information transfer to the Financial Representative, call center management trending reports, or other organizational areas. • Investigates claims by determining applicable policy coverage, evaluating damages, and settling assigned claims. • Coordinates activities with auto appraisers, body shops, rental companies, glass shops and others to bring claims to a conclusion according to policy providers. Who Should Apply for an Apprenticeship? This role is an entry level position well suited for a candidate who has not yet completed their degree and has little to no relevant professional experience. Claims Apprentices will spend a portion of each week on formal education through Heartland Community College towards an industry designation in claims. Candidates who have a degree, or claims or other relevant professional experience are encouraged to Join our Talent Community to stay updated on other openings that would be a better fit.
