About The Position

As a Manufacturing Clamp Truck Operator, you will be a part of one of the most important and vital departments within our manufacturing system. This position is responsible for all activities associated with safely operating and caring for the Clamp Truck, ensuring roll stock is undamaged, and maintaining the Roll Room organized. Additionally, you will consistently deliver correct size and paper grade rolls to the Corrugator Wet End for production.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Product layouts and production specifications (height, width, grade).
  • Product quality specifications.
  • Intermediate/advanced ability to utilize computer software such as Microsoft Outlook, printers, and touch screen interfaces.
  • Intermediate/advanced knowledge of operating a Clamp Truck to stack, load, and unload cylindrical objects of various weights.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior work experience in the corrugated industry.
  • Previous industrial power truck or heavy equipment operating experience.
  • 6 months of experience on the wet end of the corrugator.

Responsibilities

  • Take rolls of paper to the corrugator, prioritizing buttrolls, and record all rolls taken on the appropriate forms.
  • Learn to read corrugator lineups.
  • Mark buttrolls with size, diameter, lineal footage, and grade before returning to stock.
  • Unload rolls from trailers and/or rail cars, checking for and noting any physical damage.
  • Operate the clamp truck safely.
  • Complete Lift Inspection Report at the beginning of each shift and submit maintenance work orders for needed repairs.
  • Keep the Roll Stock Room organized and clean.
  • Submit roll stock tallies to the Corrugator Supervisor or Corrugator Superintendent.
  • Maximize equipment utilization by operating machinery at available capacity and speed.
  • Adhere to the daily production schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery, and service goals.
  • Assist the Corrugator Operator as instructed by supervision.
  • Assist in wet end training for double backer and dry end personnel.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and Good Manufacturing Practices, maintaining good housekeeping.
  • Additional duties may be assigned by management.
