Our mission in the Classification Department is to accurately assess and classify inmates based on their needs, risks, and behaviors. We ensure appropriate housing and program placements within the correctional system. Our goal is to enhance safety and security while promoting effective rehabilitation, ultimately aiding in the successful reintegration of inmates into society. This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves. JOB DUTIES: Join our dynamic team and make a real impact! This exciting position involves managing inmates through a collaborative case management approach, ensuring their needs are met with effective communication and resources. Key responsibilities include: Dynamic Progress Tracking: Regularly dive into the journey of each inmate, assessing their progress towards set goals, recording their institutional adjustment, and setting new, positive milestones. Motivate and inspire inmates to achieve their best, while providing them with opportunities to self-assess and express their work/program interests. Develop comprehensive management plans and conduct additional assessments to identify needs and risks. Strategic Coordination: Be the mastermind behind planning and coordinating targeted referrals for treatment, programs, work, and services. Ensure that each inmate's needs are met while aligning with the Department's goals. Collaborate with various departments to create a seamless support network. In-Depth Evaluations: Become a detective, gathering and evaluating information from a multitude of sources including reports, interviews, correspondences, observations, interactions, and records. Piece together the puzzle to form a complete picture of each inmate's situation. Precision Record-Keeping: Maintain meticulous and detailed records on the Offender Based Information System (OBIS) and other necessary applications. Compile and develop comprehensive inmate records, ensuring every detail is accurate and up-to-date. Influential Decision-Making: Play a crucial role in making custody and reclassification recommendations to the Institutional Classification Team (ICT). Lead disciplinary hearings as the Disciplinary Hearing Team Chairperson or Hearing Officer, ensuring fair and just outcomes.
