Purpose of Role The Capital Markets - Prime Services, SC Intern supports the firm’s post‑trade and clearing functions by assisting with the timely and accurate settlement of trades across multiple asset classes. The role helps perform daily reconciliations of positions, cash balances, and clearing accounts to ensure data accuracy and operational integrity. It also assists with monitoring margin and collateral requirements, preparing related reports, and collaborating with internal teams and clearinghouses to resolve trade discrepancies. Additionally, the intern contributes to documentation efforts for audit and compliance needs and supports process‑improvement initiatives, including automation and ad hoc projects within clearing operations and regulatory reporting.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business analytics, economics, finance, mathematics, risk management, or software engineering is preferred but accounting, business administration, computer science, and information systems / technology are accepted.
  • Genuine interest in one or more of the program’s departmental tracks.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship, including, but not limited to, F-1, J-1, and M-1 visa holders, as well as individuals on CPT or OPT.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the processing and clearing of trades across multiple asset classes to ensure timely and accurate settlements.
  • Perform daily reconciliations of positions, cash balances, and clearing accounts to maintain data integrity.
  • Support margin and collateral management activities by monitoring requirements and preparing related reports.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and clearinghouses to resolve trade discrepancies and operational issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of clearing activities for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and supporting automation efforts.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects related to clearing operations and regulatory reporting.
