About The Position

The Clinical Coordinator Cardiac Imaging provides leadership and clinical expertise for care team members, coordinating staffing, work assignments, and department flow. This role serves as a mentor, modeling professional practice aligned with organizational goals and standards of care. The Coordinator assists the department Director with unit operating budgets and quality performance monitoring while performing direct patient care and supervision for various cardiac imaging modalities. This position primarily serves patients from age 18 to geriatric.

Requirements

  • Education: Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Nursing is required; a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
  • Experience: At least one year of experience in Critical Care, Cardiac Testing, Cardiac Cath Lab, or Interventional Radiology.
  • Licensure & Certification: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of Electrocardiographic (EKG) Interpretation and intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, stand for long periods, walk a minimum of one mile per day, and maneuver patient weight (pulling, pushing, lifting).
  • Key Competencies: Strong leadership, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills; ability to make fast decisions under high pressure and manage stressful situations calmly.
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday; no weekend work required

Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Administration: Serve as an assistant to the Director in a leadership capacity. The role is composed of 20% administrative duties and 80% direct patient care
  • Direct Patient Care: Perform complex cardiac diagnostic procedures including Echocardiography, Stress Testing, Cardiac CT, PET, and MRI.
  • Clinical Duties: Monitor vital signs and heart rhythms, administer medications/contrast agents, manage IVs, and provide pre- and post-procedure patient education and support.
  • Technical Proficiency: Maintain in-depth knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and EKG interpretation while ensuring safety standards and radiation safety protocols are met.
  • Mentorship: Serve as a mentor to Cardiology technicians and sonographers, promoting the education and competency of EKG technicians.
