About The Position

This position will serve as the Practice Manager for the Dental Faculty Practice in the School of Dental Medicine. This position will manage the administrative and financial day-to-day operations of the Dental Faculty Practice (DFP) and the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Service. This position will manage the administrative/clinical support teams for the Dental Faculty Practice unit. This position will report to the Senior Associate Dean of Professional Practice, and collaborate closely with Associate Dean for Financial Affairs and Strategic Projects, Clinical Director of Dental Faculty Practice, Director of Human Resources, and other leadership positions to ensure long term success and sustainability of the practice.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 4-6 years of professional experience in a dental, academic dental, or medical practice setting, including practice management.
  • Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in written and oral communications.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of dental procedures

Nice To Haves

  • 7 years of experience in dental or medical practice management or related position.
  • Experience in an academic dental setting, to include practice or clinical program management.
  • Experience supervising both administrative and clinical staff.

Responsibilities

  • This position will have operational oversight of multi-disciplinary practice operations of twenty-plus generalists, specialists, and surgeons in the Faculty Practice.
  • Participate in the management of revenue generation and expense management of approximately $2 million in patient activity.
  • Manage staff to coordinate all patient care activities for faculty practice to include, but not limited to, patient callbacks, patient assignment, risk management, progress monitoring, facilities adequacy, patient access to multiple disciplines, and efficient use of personnel and other resources.
  • Work closely with the Clinical Director of Faculty Practice to make recommendations and implement practice-wide quality priorities and annual performance improvement plans for personnel and processes.
  • Oversee processes related to billing, accounts receivable, collections and patient registration activities for the practice level. Collaborate with leadership in the SDM Financial Affairs group to set resource and productivity goals.
  • Liaison with hospitals, practice plans (CU Medicine) and inter-school clinical programs for the benefit of the practice and mission of the school.
