Lifekind Health is looking for an experienced Clinical Supervisor (RN) for our Surgery Center in Cathedral City. Directly perform and supervise nursing care and all related activities according to the policies and objectives of the center. Responsible for all aspects of environmental control, staff personnel, assistance to physicians, material and equipment, education of personnel, and administrative duties. About the position: Provide, supervise, and direct all nursing care given to patients within the surgery suite according to nursing principles Provide patient care or delegate responsibility of the procedure room and recovery area to appropriate personnel for immediate patient care Ensure smooth operation of the Center through proper scheduling of patients, scheduling of staff, maintenance of the facility through cleanliness, presence of appropriate supplies in adequate amounts Provide pre- and post-operative teaching to patients to ensure patients have awareness of self-care (what to eat/not eat, prescriptions, etc.) Supervise care of suite and equipment to ensure cleanliness, sterility, and operational ability of all items Establish and maintain par levels to ensure proper operation of the center Direct all safety measures to prevent accidents, harm or injury in any way of patient, personnel, or equipment Provide comprehensive orientation program for all staff members See patients with physicians, assisting with intake, documentation during patient visit and patient teaching; assist with turnover of room, bringing patients to and from the exam rooms Review credential files of staff and physicians on a regular basis to ensure evaluations are performed in a timely manner; licensure and certifications are accurate, current and complete Actively participate in Quality Improvement Program by seeing areas which can be improved, attend meetings, write QI studies Charge Duties Resolve patient disputes and concerns; support staff concerns Review Incidents in surgery center Review challenging cases / patients Oversee nursing operations: Documentation, patient care Act as a liaison between outside vendors and surgical staff Review surgical policies in the event they may need to be updated based on most current surgical guidelines IntraOp (Circulating) Responsible for ensuring patient safety in OR Assist MD and scrub tech during case by circulating room Assist Anesthesia by ensuring close patient monitoring is occurring during case Appropriately document medication administered during case and procedure performed Nurse Staff Oversight PreOp & PostOp Calls Nurse Schedule Conflict Resolution & Follow Up Training

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse license in state of California
  • Current BLS/CPR certification required, ACLS also preferred
  • At least three months O.R. or Recovery Room experience within the last three years
  • Supervisory experience within the last three years
  • Experience with Infection Control standards and ensuring patient safety
  • Ability to be self-directing, ability to take direction from physicians and managers as appropriate, ability to direct Procedure Room and Recovery Room staff, strong technical and organizational skills
  • Ability to anticipate and prevent problems
