About The Position

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES: Essential Primary Responsibilities: Produce metal parts to customer specifications using laser equipment (ByStronic). Required to set and program laser equipment for specific custom jobs. Experience working with a variety of computer file types would be helpful.Sets up and operates cutting machine(s) in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. May perform programming and/or editing on assigned machine(s). Performs preventative maintenance on assigned machine(s) and corresponding equipment. Must be familiar, comfortable, and experienced with laser cutting operations using oxygen and nitrogen. Familiar with CNC G-code language Operate machine, load and unload parts following machine cycle, check work for required operations and specifications and place finished parts on skid. Inspects and measures completed production units to identify defects caused by equipment setup. Safely and accurately operate machine to produce finished work pieces to quality and efficiency standards, including loading materials. Reads work orders to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, dimensions and tolerances, proper labeling of parts, etc., and accurately completes all required functions to ensure only quality product is produced and shipped to customers. Supports 6S initiatives by keeping the work area clean. Safely uses assigned power equipment to move material and meet order requirements (overhead crane, forklift). Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Advanced measurement competency Basic math competency Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a warehouse environment. Strong work ethic. High School diploma or associate degree in manufacturing or equivalent. A minimum of two years of Gerber laser cutting machine operator experience with emphasis in the textile industry. Experience in reading drawings and tolerances Physical Requirements Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping. Required regularly to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to squat, stand, stoop bend down, for long periods of time. Required to occasionally climb or balance; stoop, kneel, and crouch; and talk or hear. Must be able to lift, push, and pull according to safety standards.
