About The Position

HITACHI RAIL is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated CNC Operations Team Lead who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. This position is based in Batesburg, SC. Please note: This is a second shift work hours position

Requirements

  • 5+ years of electrical systems, electronics, or relevant experience
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and knowledge of machining, CNC operations including programming
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing methods, tools and processes
  • Programming and trouble-shooting experience
  • Detail-oriented, knowledge of shop math, machining, computers, communication, quality, safety, and team/independent working
  • Positive track record supporting manufacturing safety culture
  • Possess strong collaboration skills and positive peer interaction
  • Lead CNC operations team and organize and monitor workflow to meet production goals
  • Plan and manage material flow to support production schedules efficiently
  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC Mills, Lathes, Routers, and other machine tools
  • Program CNC machines and apply mechanical knowledge to produce precision parts
  • Work independently and manage multiple tasks of varying complexity and completion stages
  • Develop and implement workforce procedures and performance measurements to support quality production
  • Provide training and guidance to team members to improve skills and performance
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Use SAP and Microsoft Office applications proficiently to support operations and reporting

Responsibilities

  • Lead production staff and organize and monitor workflow
  • Plan and manage direct material flow to achieve production schedules
  • Maintain a professional, effective and efficient work force through the development of staff
  • Develop, enforce, and maintain workforce procedures, processes and measurements that contribute to the quality of Hitachi Rail productions
  • Enforce and maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, and maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures
  • Identify, advise, and administer necessary training to develop and improve necessary work skills
  • Foster employee involvement in achieving quality improvements, provide regular feedback and active support in pursuit of quality and performance objectives
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries
  • Set-up and trouble shoot machine operations
