About The Position

To assist/observe healthcare personnel in the delivery of quality patient care. Under the direct supervision of the House Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or RN/LPN and/or his/her designee, or a Provider while providing a safe environment. Functional Demands Inclement Weather:  Non Essential Physical Demands: Prolonged periods of standing and walking. Lifting, pushing, pulling up, transferring, repositioning patients. Reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching for patient care functions. Ability to perform effectively in a stressful and fast-paced environment. Ability to successfully complete physical and agility test, all required health, and other screening tests.   ORGANIZATIONAL EXPECTATIONS Provides a positive and professional representation of the organization. Promotes culture of safety for patients and employees through proper identification, reporting, and prevention. Maintains hospital standards for a clean and quiet patient environment to maintain a positive patient care experience. Maintains competency and knowledge of current standards of practice, trends, and developments in related scope of job role or practice. Adheres to infection-control policies and protocols Participates in ongoing quality improvement activities. Maintains compliance with organization’s policies, as well as established practices, protocols, and procedures of the position, department, and applicable professional standards. Complies with organizational and regulatory policies for handling confidential patient information. Demonstrates excellent customer service through his/her attitude and actions, consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission, and Values of the organization. Adheres to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and TJC standards and/or standards from other accrediting bodies.   Patient Experience:  Focus on providing a patient centric experience Communicate effectively with the Healthcare Team   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Ability to perform and complete accurate vital signs along with another staff member   Assists Certified Nursing Assistants in Activities of Daily Living: assists with meals and feeds patients; ambulates, turns, and positions patients; provides fresh water and nourishment between meals.   Provides a safe environment   Provides for comfort needs of patients.   Works effectively as a team member in the delivery of care and assists in the orientation of new employees.   Utilizes resources and materials in an efficient and safe manner.   Maintains a safe and clean environment for patients and co-workers; transports patients and equipment as appropriate.   Reports observations of a patient to the nurse caring for the patient to ensure professional assessment.   Instills confidence in the patient by maintaining a neat and clean appearance and performing duties in a competent and caring manner.   Shows dependability by being punctual; maintains consistent attendance.   Maintains good working relations among all unit personnel and other hospital employees through appropriate communication.   Ability to take directions from licensed and administrative professionals.   Responsible and accountable for all actions.   Accepts reassignment as needed to provide necessary care for all patients.   Non Essential Functions   All other duties as assigned Floats as requested by the unit manager, director, teamleader and/or supervisor/staffing coordinator.
