About The Position

To assist/observe healthcare personnel in the delivery of quality patient care. Under the direct supervision of the House Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or RN/LPN and/or his/her designee, or a Provider while providing a safe environment.

Functional Demands

Inclement Weather:  Non Essential

Physical Demands:

Prolonged periods of standing and walking.

Lifting, pushing, pulling up, transferring, repositioning patients.

Reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching for patient care functions.

Ability to perform effectively in a stressful and fast-paced environment.

Ability to successfully complete physical and agility test, all required health, and other screening tests.

Responsibilities

• Ability to perform and complete accurate vital signs along with another staff member
• Assists Certified Nursing Assistants in Activities of Daily Living: assists with meals and feeds patients; ambulates, turns, and positions patients; provides fresh water and nourishment between meals.
• Provides a safe environment
• Provides for comfort needs of patients.
• Works effectively as a team member in the delivery of care and assists in the orientation of new employees.
• Utilizes resources and materials in an efficient and safe manner.
• Maintains a safe and clean environment for patients and co-workers; transports patients and equipment as appropriate.
• Reports observations of a patient to the nurse caring for the patient to ensure professional assessment.
• Instills confidence in the patient by maintaining a neat and clean appearance and performing duties in a competent and caring manner.
• Shows dependability by being punctual; maintains consistent attendance.
• Maintains good working relations among all unit personnel and other hospital employees through appropriate communication.
• Ability to take directions from licensed and administrative professionals.
• Responsible and accountable for all actions.
• Accepts reassignment as needed to provide necessary care for all patients.
• All other duties as assigned
• Floats as requested by the unit manager, director, teamleader and/or supervisor/staffing coordinator.
