At the DEP's Watershed and Land Management Program (WLM), our mission is to unite land and water stewardship through a collaborative, watershed-focused approach. Since our inception on June 1, 2020, we have been dedicated to preserving and enhancing New Jersey's water quality and natural resources while safeguarding communities from environmental threats. The intern will engage in tasks such as digitizing existing public access locations in coastal municipalities, georeferencing and digitizing dredging projects, and/or mapping permitted nature-based solutions projects. Responsibilities may also include quality assurance and quality control (QAQC) of XY coordinate locations. Additionally, there may be opportunities for fieldwork, allowing interns to conduct site visits. Candidates should have some knowledge of ESRI products such as ArcPro and ArcGIS Online, with completion of GIS courses being a plus. Familiarity with data management software, such as Microsoft Excel, is also preferred. Candidates should be detail oriented and organized.
