About The Position

The Command Center serves as the highest level of escalation when a supplier disruption is at risk of impacting GM production within one week. The team works closely with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate rapid response actions, including facilitating conference calls to align on critical parts shipments and allocation across multiple plants and programs. Executes deliverables in support of the Supply Chain organization’s business objectives. Leads a key functional area within Global Supply Chain to ensure objectives are met or exceeded across customer, quality, service, responsiveness, people, product, and financial performance. Communicates effectively across all levels of the organization, collaborating within the function, across enterprise partners, and with external suppliers. Supports relationship management with logistics suppliers and service providers to ensure continuity of operations.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, manufacturing operations, or command-center-style environment.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Comfortable using data to prioritize, communicate risk, and recommend actions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to summarize complex situations quickly and clearly.
  • Role requires flexibility for early/late hours, occasional weekends, and on-call support during major events or launches.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, Operations, Business, or related field
  • Experience in automotive or other high-complexity, high-velocity manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with GM systems and tools (e.g., logistics visibility tools, supplier risk dashboards, ERP/TMS, reporting platforms).
  • Demonstrated success leading crisis management or business continuity efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end‑to‑end recovery efforts for assigned Command Center cases in partnership with GM functional teams and Assembly/Metal Centers
  • Collaborate with other NASO Command Center coordinators to manage and resolve critical supply issues
  • Maintain a deep understanding of Supply Chain functions, processes, and interdependencies
  • Manage high‑pressure, complex supply disruptions with a focus on minimizing plant downtime and reducing premium transportation costs
  • Analyze performance metrics supporting supplier critical issues and sufficiency plan execution
  • Summarize critical issues, recommended resolutions, and risks for leadership communication
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to develop and implement creative, sustainable solutions
  • Drive end‑to‑end problem resolution and implement innovative strategies to improve supply chain performance
  • Develop and lead complex flow plans to track supplier performance and support plant allocation of critical parts
  • Analyze supply chain status and develop countermeasures using tools such as MGO, INSIGHT, and other systems
  • Support ad‑hoc initiatives as required, including holiday supplier work plans, premium freight reduction efforts, and late or increased production changes
