Make a difference as a Commercial Loan Administration Manager As the Commercial Loan Administration Manager at Mercantile Bank in Grand Rapids, MI, you will lead multiple teams to ensure high-quality and efficient commercial loan origination. This pivotal role involves managing personnel, establishing policies, and overseeing risk management associated with the Bank's commercial loan function. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining departmental procedures and workflows, emphasizing productivity, risk management, and quality. Creating a collaborative work environment is crucial, as you will ensure staff receive proper training and remain engaged to effectively support both internal and external clients. This role requires fostering positive inter-department relationships across the organization, collaborating closely with Commercial Lending, Credit, and Loan Operations. By tracking key performance indicators and utilizing data analytics, you will promote departmental initiatives while ensuring adherence to all relevant laws and bank policies, ultimately driving excellence and innovation within the commercial loan administration function.

Requirements

  • 5-8 Years of Commercial Loan Administration Experience as well as Supervisory experience.
  • Education: (1) A bachelor's degree or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g. information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
  • Equivalent job-related education and/or experience will be considered if the necessary knowledge skills and abilities to perform the functions of the job are proven.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain regular communication with department supervisors, including those overseeing commercial loan support, CLCs, commercial construction and commercial loan systems
  • Understand and advise on process efficiencies, maximizing systems and personnel
  • Contract and systems management
  • Promote open dialogue and cross collaboration with other departments
  • Collaborate with the Documentation Review team to identify training opportunities
  • SOX controls and procedures updates
  • Track KPIs and communicate targets and progress to team
  • Be an active member and provide departmental updates to various committees of the Bank
  • Dashboard Maintenance and data monitoring
  • Understand commercial loan documentation, loan due diligence and applicable laws.
